The Future of Brain-Machine Interfaces
In this video from Techonomy’s recent San Francisco event the director of Biological Technologies Office at DARPA: Justin Sanchez shares some of the work the program has been doing into brain computer interfaces.
Work on brain control of prosthetic limbs is of course important and very impressive but what caught my attention was the multitasking demo.
While manipulating a flight simulator using the power of thinking, a user moved 2 others objects (~ min 5:30). Such cognitive forking has huge potential in post–linear systems and complexity–friendly software paradigms.
I am excited about the use cases this can unfold in the “third horizon”.
